My Story

Hello, & welcome! I’m Cassandra, founder of Off The App. After over 15 years in the hospitality world, I’ve learned that some of life’s best connections happen over good food, a shared laugh, or an unexpected conversation. Whether behind the bar, planning private events, or simply welcoming guests — I’ve always loved creating spaces where people feel at ease, seen, and celebrated.

Like many, I spent years navigating the ups and downs of online dating apps. My Cinderella story is that I did eventually meet my husband online after many prayers and countless cringey first dates. However, the truth is that the road there was mentally exhausting, impersonal, and all of the cookie-cutter “I’m great, how are you today?” messages were truly just downright painful. That’s why I created Off The App. It is my vision to bring hopeful singles together in real life, where there is great potential for sparks to fly over pizza and craft beer and not just some clever bios.

By nature, I am a host at heart. I believe there’s magic in gathering people — in the nervous excitement of showing up, the small moments of connection, and the laughter that fills the room. My events are intentionally low-pressure, thoughtfully organized, and full of little touches to help you relax and just be yourself. Whether you walk away with a first date, a new friend, or just a fun night out, you’ll be part of something real.
