My WHY for Off The App

Hi there, I’m Cassandra. I suppose you could say that I’m the face behind Off The App, a small but mighty effort to help single men and women meet in real life settings. After over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have learned one simple truth: people just want to be welcomed. Exactly as they are.

Throughout my career in hospitality, my world has constantly revolved around people. We are talking the regulars at the bar, the coworkers I adored, the manager I deeply respected, the parents who left the kiddos with a babysitter so they could have date night, a family celebrating a daughter’s birthday, and even the nervous individuals on an awkward first date at the table in the corner. I loved the chaos, the long hours, the countless conversations and the random opportunities where you could make someone’s day just a little bit brighter.

Over a month ago, I abruptly decided to leave my job as a bar manager. To be blunt, I was feeling the pressures of everyday life and I was burned out to the max. Leaving that world wasn’t easy. In fact, it felt like a personal failure. I walked away from a career I was passionate about (and people I truly cared about) at a time when I was struggling with my own uncertainty. It wasn’t because I stopped loving it; it was because I finally realized I needed something different.

But here’s the thing: hospitality never left me.

At its core, hospitality is about valuing people. Hearing them. Making them feel welcome. Anticipating their needs before they even ask. No matter what. And that’s exactly why I started Off The App.

It’s my mission to create a space where you are genuinely welcome and supported. As many of you already know, dating can be downright scary. But, it truly doesn’t have to be! Everyone walking into one of my events is more than likely feeling the exact same way you are! Nervous and skeptical. I get it, I really do. But I will be there, ready to warmly welcome you in and to help make introductions to other singles in your community. So come as you are. Be yourself. Take the pressure off, leave any doubt at the door and just have some fun. You never know who you’ll meet, or what you’ll discover about yourself!
